Largest Economic Development Project

in The Southeastern United States

$2,900,000,000 In Capital Investment

This is all possible from BRAC: Base Realignment and Closure.  Fort Benning (Columbus, GA) is in the process of expanding by taking in the armor center & school that is currently located at Fort Knox. This is and incredible boost to the local economies surrounding the base including Harris County. 

The major construction which is now taking place to accommodate the additional 10,000+ jobs will cost over 2.9 Billions (yes billion not millon).  That is an astonishing $2,000,000.00 per day in construction. 

The time line for this growth has already started and will be complete by September 15 of 2011. 

Today at Fort Benning the salaries are $110 millon monthly.  The structure changes will boost this number by $25 to $30 million more. 

Once again the West Point, Ga area proves it self to be an excellent place to live, work, play and plan for you future.

15 minutes of fame

This week we had news trucks from all over the country coming to West Point for the first car to come off the line at the new Kia Plant.  At lunch the news media was looking to locals to interview to hear more about the impact on the people who live in West Point. 

I was interviewed by channel two action news out of Atlanta.  I guess this is my fifteen minutes of fame.

National media comes to West Point

West Point, GA is once again a very busy place.  Today the downtown streets were packed with national media satellite trucks.  Fox, NBC, and CBS were all here along with several Atlanta stations to highlight all of the great things that are happening in the little town of West Point. 

I even got interviewed at lunch at the Irish Bread Pub by channel 2 out of Atlanta to talk about the local real estate market.  We will see if I make it on the news.
