This is all possible from BRAC: Base Realignment and Closure.  Fort Benning (Columbus, GA) is in the process of expanding by taking in the armor center & school that is currently located at Fort Knox. This is and incredible boost to the local economies surrounding the base including Harris County. 

The major construction which is now taking place to accommodate the additional 10,000+ jobs will cost over 2.9 Billions (yes billion not millon).  That is an astonishing $2,000,000.00 per day in construction. 

The time line for this growth has already started and will be complete by September 15 of 2011. 

Today at Fort Benning the salaries are $110 millon monthly.  The structure changes will boost this number by $25 to $30 million more.
